About Our Farm
We are a small family run farm with land running from the peaceful banks of the River Esk to the crest of the hill with views stretching down to Whitby Abbey in the far distance. We have miles of hedgerows maintained with wildlife in mind, at different times of the year there is a profusion of wild flowers along these wildlife corridors. There are several wooded areas on the farm and alongside the in-field trees these help to create a beautiful landscape.
We maintain a system relying on minimal inputs of artificial products to the land. As this is a working farm, there may be times when you will see tractors working in the fields harvesting the grass for hay or silage to feed to the animals in the winter months.
Our main enterprise is beef cattle with a herd of pedigree Simmentals running alongside a commercially bred herd with emphasis on polled (naturally hornless) cattle. As well as the cattle we have several horses, from Thoroughbred racehorses to a Miniature Shetland and a donkey. We also have goats, chickens and even a peacock.
